Aftercare
Non-kitchenware items such as Jewellery Boxes, Gift Boxes, Notelet Stands, Pencil Boxes, etc are finished in a Carnauba Wax or Beeswax top coat.
If need be, re-polish using a good quality wax such as beeswax. Do not use household furniture polish or any other sprays or liquids as these may damage the finish.
All kitchenware is treated with a food-safe pure Tung Oil* and may be cleaned in a similar manner to any other tabletop, using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Never immerse in water.
Kitchenware can be sanitised after cleaning with a dilute bleach solution (1 teaspoon of bleach per litre of water) applied sparingly with a cloth. Treat regularly with a light coating of food grade oil, such as Tung Oil or Mineral Oil.
*NUT ALLERGIES
Kitchenware is treated with Pure Tung Oil, which is derived from the seed of the Tung Tree, which belongs to a different botanical family than peanuts, cashews, and pistachios. There is some debate about whether Tung Oil comes from a seed or a nut. While it is possible for someone to be allergic to Tung Oil, it is not commonly associated with other nut allergies and is unlikely to cause a reaction in individuals with peanut or tree nut allergies.
